Our vision is a Nevada education system where all students have early and equal access to engaging and quality computer science instruction to build a foundation for their success in STEM classes, majors, and jobs. We train educators how to use classroom robots and drones, offer free robot-drone lending libraries in Reno, Las Vegas, Elko, and Mesquite, and offer hands-on CS-STEM engagement at STEM events across the state.
The American Rocketry Challenge is the world’s largest student rocket contest. Our competition challenges middle and high school students to design, build, and launch model rockets, providing hands-on experience in solving engineering problems.
In 2018, as part of the Tesla Education Investment, Nevada Robotics was established to provide state-wide professional development for educators to bring more CS-STEM to the classroom. To date, Nevada Robotics has hosted over 70 hands-on trainings and provides on-going support to schools and teachers in all corners of Nevada. Nevada Robotics has successfully trained over 2,000 teachers reaching 200,000 students in grades PK-12. The mission is to support robotics, drones, engineering, & computer science in PK-12 education: focusing on Title 1, rural, and reservation schools. The vision is for all students across Nevada to think creatively and solve complex problems through hands-on robotics education.

We have created a series of science stories, YouTube videos, games, and additional resources to teach late elementary and middle school students about:
· atoms (size, number, kinds, and arrangements)
· how atoms were created during the evolution of the Universe
· how atoms have been shared by plants and animals during the history of Planet Earth
· how the Coronavirus and mRNA vaccines interact with our bodies
These resources were created as part of our STARDUST MYSTERY PROJECT funded in part by the National Science Foundation (NSF).
Drone soccer is a thrilling indoor team sport played with radio controlled quadcopters in protective exoskeletons designed for collisions. Five player teams face off in a netted arena where they ram and block the opposing team to prevent them from scoring. But before pilots can compete they must first learn to build, program, fly, and repair high-performance drones, learning engineering skills towards exciting careers in aviation.

DIRT is a Nevada based non-profit that focuses on bridging the gap between STEM education, research, and working professionals in the infrastructure and development industries though real-world application and immersion learning.

A great book and resources to inspire young girl and boy scientists. – Supported by the National Science Foundation.
I have a great book, YouTube videos, video games and student projects to inspire young girls and boys interested in science. They were created with support from the National Science Foundation. The book’s heroes are three young girl cousins who join their boy cousin to solve a scientific puzzle. The four characters star in many of our science videos that you can find on The Stardust Mystery YouTube Channel. Part 1 of the book and short stories based on the book can be found on our web site https://TheStardustMystery.com on the Book and Kids pages. There are also kid’s projects and links to the videos.
The resources are all about the story of Stardust. The Stardust theme is: we are made of stardust that was once in the body of Albert Einstein and the last T-Rex. The story is about atoms, their properties, kinds, and arrangements. It is about how atoms were created in star explosions during the evolution of the universe and shared by plants and animals (Including Einstein, the Last T-Rex and ourselves) during the history of planet Earth.

This book was great! I have discussed this with my students, and we are reading it together. They are loving the information presented in a fun and relatable way. The Science Undergraduate Laboratory Internship (SULI) program encourages undergraduate students and recent graduates to pursue science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) careers by providing research experiences at the Department of Energy (DOE) laboratories. Selected students participate as interns appointed at one of 17 participating DOE laboratories/facilities. They perform research, under the guidance of laboratory staff scientists or engineers, on projects supporting the DOE mission.
