FIRST Nevada Robotics

Program Type: K-12 Elementary School

FIRST Nevada is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization promoting FIRST Robotics programs and STEM education initiatives in Nevada.

FIRST = For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology.

FIRST Nevada programs benefit the community by increasing STEM knowledge and 21st century work-life skills of its youth participants, with the ultimate goal of increasing the local STEM workforce pipeline. FIRST programs provide actual hands-on experiences which put into practice what students learn in the classroom, engaging them and making learning relevant. Our programs incorporate best-practice strategies to engage youth and cultivate interest in STEM. We seek to involve as many children from grades K-12 as possible. In science and technology industries, minorities and women are typically underrepresented. At FIRST Nevada, we welcome and encourage these under-served groups in our programs.
