Math and Science Magnet School At Mabel Hoggard Elementary School

Mabel Hoggard Math & Science Magnet has the distinction of being the first elementary magnet school established in Las Vegas and is accredited through the Northwest Association of Accredited Schools. At Hoggard, students participate in a rigorous academic curriculum with an emphasis on science, mathematics and technology. They are taught the art of scientific investigation and mathematical problem solving with the use of computer technology. The curriculum is highly motivational with extensive hands on math and science experiences. Students receive extended programs and activities through Explorations in art, music, and physical education classes as well as the schools many outdoor and indoor laboratory programs.

Walter Bracken Elementary School STEAM Academy

Walter Bracken Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts, and Math (STEAM) Academy provides students with an education that emphasizes academic and behavioral excellence. Children explore and investigate using critical thinking skills.Career education is highlighted so that
students are taught about future opportunities. Outdoor gardens, tortoise habitats, and investigative field trips
provide additional opportunities for hands-on discovery. Parent and community support is abundant and provides our students with an optimal learning environment. We have many partnerships that involve on-site support and constantly involve them directly in our program.

VEX Robotics

We envision a world where every student has the opportunity to be inspired by the excitement of hands-on STEM learning and knows the feeling of creating something with technology. We want people of all ages and backgrounds to recognize that creative problem solving is fun and see its importance in shaping a better future. iD Tech Camps at UNLV

iD Tech Camps at University of Nevada, Las Vegas, takes interests further and students gain a competitive edge for school, college, and future careers in STEM. Ages 7-17 create apps, video games, C++/Java programs, mods with Minecraft, movies, robots, and more. Week long, day and overnight summer programs held at UNLV and others.

Las Vegas Science and Technology Festival

A celebration of everything and anything science in Southern Nevada! This week-long festival offers something for everyone ? adults, school groups, kids and families with dozens of public events, a multitude of in-school K-12 and university programs, and a grand finale Expo Day. The Las Vegas Science Festival makes science fun, accessible and engaging!

Mobile Engineering Education Lab

The Mobile Engineering Education Lab is a K-8 outreach program privately funded by The Mallory Foundation through UNR’s College of Engineering. We employ current UNR engineering students, who present one hour engineering lessons to individuals classes or large groups. The purpose is to generate excitement in the STEM areas and to introduce students to engineering.

Mad Science is a leading science enrichment provider. We deliver unique, hands-on science experiences for children that are as entertaining as they are educational.

We have franchises located around the world, teaching millions of children about the fun in science through after-school programs, in-class workshops, camps, birthday parties and special events. Mad Science encourages scientific literacy in children in an age when science is as vital as reading, writing and arithmetic. GoToCollegeNevada.org is a program funded by the Department of Education and the Nevada System of Higher Education which assists students in learning about and preparing for college after high school. It provides information and resources necessary for college preparation.

UNR Cooperative Extension 4-H Youth Development Program

4-H is a community of young people across America learning leadership, citizenship and life skills.

4-H began a century ago as an educational program for the nation’s rural youth. 4-H is the youth development education program of University of Nevada Cooperative Extension.

4-H is the largest out-of-school youth organization in the United States with over 7 million members. There are over 49,000 young people engaged in 4-H programs across the state of Nevada. The 4-H program promotes life skills development through an expanding number of delivery modes: 4-H community and project clubs, military, and 4-H afterschool programs; special interest groups; school enrichment; camping and more.

4-H participants are all youth, ages 5 to 19, taking part in programs provided as the result of actions planned and initiated by Cooperative Extension personnel in cooperation with volunteers.

C-STEM

Since 2002, CSTEM has operated as a non-profit organization providing services to teachers and students in areas of communication, science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (CSTEM). Through action research, CSTEM has developed a program that supports and services Pre K-12 pipeline teams, enriching the teaching and learning process for both teachers and students around the world.
